12/3, 12/4 Special Lecture by Outstanding Master’s Program Alumnus – NYCU Biomedical Engineering Dr. Yi-Lan Wang
Dr. Yi-Lan Wang, our distinguished alumnus and Senior Principal Scientist at Johnson & Johnson, returns to his alma mater. He will give a special lecture on his expertise in global biomedical surgery and research and development.
Dr. Wang will draw on his years of overseas study and industry experience to deliver a talk centered on “Learning, Choices, Challenges, and Growth,” helping students gain a broader perspective and clearer direction as they explore their future paths.

Associate Professor Kenta Yamanaka from the Institute for Materials Research, Tohoku University, Japan, visited on November 11, 2025. During the visit, toured the laboratories, and engaged in research discussions with faculty and students in the field of biomedical engineering.

Congratulations to Professor Bor-Ran Li for guiding his students to receiving the First Prize in the 5th Xian-Qi Fang BioICT Research Thesis Award.
Mr. Xian-Qi Fang was a significant pioneer in Taiwan's telecommunications, electronics, and information industries, as well as a key driver in the semiconductor industry. This award aims to enhance Taiwan's R&D capabilities and standards in this field while fostering the cultivation of outstanding technological talent.

On August 1, 2025, Prof. Chun-Li Lin, Director of the Center, was invited to Tohoku University in Japan to deliver a keynote lecture at the "Interface Summer Seminar."
"Workshop on Bio-Intelligent Sensing Medical Devices"
The workshop features distinguished experts from both academia and industry, including representatives from NYCU, the biotechnology sector, and medical research centers.
They will delve into topics such as sensing platform design, home-based health monitoring, microfluidic chip technology, high-sensitivity detection, and precision therapy for colorectal cancer stem cells.
The discussion will also extend to the practical applications and entrepreneurial opportunities arising from these innovative technologies.
